Opening with the beautiful De Selby (Part 1) passionate, love-fueled energy filled the immense Maverik Center in West Valley, Utah. I have never felt such energy in a room before. Being the 31st stop on tour, Hozier’s performance was truly alluring. He had eight other talented musicians playing alongside him with instruments from the organ, cello, violin, synth, acoustic and electric guitars, keys, drums, and vocalists.

Not only does Hozier have a full team of musicians on the road with him, but he also has an even larger production team. With full rigged sets, from stars and a Cherry Wine colored moon to trees with projections from underground to sunsets just like the Unreal Unearth album cover.

The transitions are through songs, albums, and gratitude. Hozier represents the central line of fame and human. Sharing the details of genuine kindness, love, and peace. No matter the size of the venue Hozier provides an intimate experience for each one of his supporters. My mind is still stuck inside of that venue, listening to his discography ever since. Friday night felt like running around under the stars with best friends. A night of pure bittersweetness as ethereal melodies reverberated throughout the venue. I know everyone else in the crowd felt the same way as I did.
I have never experienced a crowd so loud, and so beautiful. Hozier’s soulful lyrics tugged right on my heartstrings especially as his supporting musicians brought rich, dynamic sounds to the essence of every one of these live songs. He is not afraid to tackle social issues, he spreads every word exactly how he is feeling and is very educated. Pure authenticity is what he has created, delicately he addresses what is going on in the world and I truly believe that is how he has stayed so connected to his supporters. He creates powerful and impactful speeches and releases every raw emotion into his music. That was projected even more live. Hozier captures depth, rawness, and intensity in every one of his songs that grasps your soul and heart.
