SLC's Love Letters to You

Written by Destiny Ross

When you think of Salt Lake City you think of majestic landscapes such as mountains, nighttime sunsets, gorgeous drop-offs, etc. but don’t you also think of the crazy insane music scene? Don’t you think about the insane growth of the music industry with the emergence of so many talents, such as Krooked Kings, Backseat Lovers, JAWNY, and more…? Do you ever wonder what it would be like to witness a convergence of smaller artists and their big break event? Well, now you might have a place to witness all of this and more at the Love Letters Fest, hosted here locally in Salt Lake City in Library Square, in its inaugural year! Love Letters Festival is a combination of artists you never thought you’d see here and artists that call Utah their home.

We all know of Utah’s own Kilby Block Party that happens every year, each year growing significantly more and more… But what we had yet to know was the setlist they were cooking up for us for this first-year festival. Now that we all do know, the anticipation has continued to grow and stir. Artists such as Joji, Ashnikko and Quinn XCII are all headlining bringing an array of different backgrounds and genres to the plate already… Not only did they pick amazing headliners but the lineup is stacked with other standouts such as Peter McPoland, Bad Suns, and Novo Amor. This festival really ranges in genres when it comes to diversity. Not only providing the base genres like Pop, Indie, and Rock but also furthering its horizons to genres and subgenres like Synth-Pop and R&B.

We know that not only will the Love Letters Festival have the music but also have the vibes. They have done an amazing job with the marketing for this event to the point where you can tell everyone involved is having a good time and is loving what they're doing. That’s the most important thing in this community, is to love what you're doing and have a good time doing it but also creating a safe space in which everyone can feel welcome and included and we really believe Love Letters will/can do that.
