As we immerse ourselves in the captivating essence of Electric Dusk, let's now delve behind the scenes and explore the creative process that brought this remarkable album to life.

Here are some questions we had the chance to ask Leon!

We first asked, “How do you come up with your songs? Are they more from experience, more from thoughts? Just wanted to get a better idea on your creative process.”

Yeah I mean every song is different, I think more of the fast-paced Hip-Hop leaning stuff, ya know I’ll collaborate with this co-writer Bizzy Crook and we have like this crazy text message thread where we’re both sending each other passages of verses, where we pretty much do a verse off. So what I’ll do is I play Tetris with bars. Bars from me bars from him and we’ll just put it together. We start with lyrics, lyrics are really important, and storytelling is really important. And then Melody comes extremely easy to me, and I’ll try that on a couple of different tracks until it’s right, but that’s with the Hip-Hop stuff, with the kinda singer-songwriter stuff it’s kinda me and a guitar until I get it right then I’ll record it down.

From the album's very first track, Slow Down, a unique and captivating tone is established. The song's entrancing instrumental arrangement, coupled with a commanding baseline and Thomas's enchanting vocals, provides a glimpse into the immersive musical journey that the album offers. Among The standout tracks, My Will emerges as an exemplar of the album's hit-worthy potential. With its trance-like elements and an irresistibly catchy melody, the song conveys an intense emotional wave that’s impossible to not resonate with. I couldn’t help but hang on to every word as the track is a perfect example of the FEELING Leon delivers in his music.

We then asked, “What song or piece of music are you really proud of and why?”

You know I’m really proud of Breaking Point, Breaking Point was a vulnerable moment for me, and I think really looking back at a lot of the songs I have written for myself and even for other people. I feel like I’m always living in this imaginary world. But that was like my actual life at that time, it was so cool to see people like, I don’t know respond to that. Because it was kind of a surprise to me to be real. I was kinda just putting it out because I felt like some of the R&B people out there that follow me would probably like it, but it’s cool to see it kind of reach an international audience.

Taking a unique turn, Breaking Point introduces a genuine R&B essence and personal tone to the album. The track not only showcases Thomas's versatile vocal range but also delivers emotionally resonant lyrics. Through Breaking Point, Thomas conveys his personal experiences with love and the stresses that come with it, the internal struggle of a relationship is not only relatable but powerful and is sure to resonate with fans old and new alike.

In an industry sometimes characterized by superficiality, Electric Dusk emerges as a meaningful endeavor that seamlessly blends musical mastery with heartfelt expression. For those in search of an album that embodies both exceptional artistic prowess and emotionally evocative storytelling, Leon Thomas's Electric Dusk is a definitive choice.
