Kota the Friend feels the love in Detroit, Michigan at Saint Andrews Hall.

Long-time and Recent followers of musical artist Kota the Friend lined up in the freezing cold outside of the legendary Detroit music venue Saint Andrews Hall to witness the Flowers for Your Friends tour in person! The widely diverse demographic of concertgoers in line was a nod to the openness and welcoming spirit of the Rapper. Kota for years has been known for his versatility in his artistry and pure vibes he puts out into the world and everyone was ready to experience this for themselves.

DJ Ak opened up the set playing some of the biggest hits in the rap community and all the club anthems to get the crowd warmed up for opener Price. Rapper from Los Angeles County, California

Came out with tons of energy and got the audience engaged in the music automatically with his incredible crowd work and unmatched hype. His song Mansa Musa was a hit with the Detroit crowd as they yelled out the lyrics. Definitely an amazing way to kick off the night.

After another DJ set filled with hype and some throwbacks this time Kota the Friend came out to his song Wolves and the audience went wild and the atmosphere was so dancey in that room as the crowd bopped and waved their hands to the beat. As the show went on Kota took us through his thought process going into a lot of his songs one sticking out is the intention behind his song Boy which he explained was a song that was made after the tragic passing of Nipsey Hustle, when Kota thought about nipsey’s kids and having to continue on with life without him he wanted to make sure to leave something to his son and in this song he expressed his desire to give back to the community and share an uplifting view of beauty in the eyes of black youth.


Throughout the rest of the night, Kota the Friend took us through his multitude of location-named songs as destinations we’d be going through ending the night with the hit song Colorado leaving Kota fans with the perfect vibe to make their way home from this incredible night.
