Your newest single 'Crying My Eyes Out' is more of a gut-wrenching story most of us can sadly relate to... did something inspire you to write this song?

My friends dragged me for a girls’ night while I was in the midst of trying to get over a guy. The last thing you want on a night out when trying to get over someone is to see them dancing with someone else right in front of you….which is exactly what happened. The following week I went into the studio and spent all 5 days writing about the experience.

With defining genres these days it's easy to get thrown in a genre without knowledge of it, but for first-time listeners, how would YOU describe your genre??

Technically it’s pop, but I like to say it’s like you’re in the back of a cab on your way home from a night out looking out the window and feeling all dramatic type music.

To my understanding, I know you have an Irish background and have family there as well, have any of your Irish family gotten to see you perform live yet?

They haven't seen me perform a proper show, but whenever I’m back in Ireland I never miss an opportunity to jump in on a trad session and sing a few songs.

I love the aesthetic of all your single art! I was wondering if you had a favorite cover/shoot and who you collaborated with there.

The single art for ‘Crying My Eyes Out’ is by far my favorite to date. I had a vision for the artwork while I was writing the song… I knew I wanted diamond tears falling from my eyes – Amanda Wilson, my makeup artist, and Meredith Traux, the photographer, brought my vision to life. Absolutely killed it.

I also saw that you collaborated with Hong Jin-Young and got to perform with her in Seoul, how was that?

It was so crazy… absolutely insane. Hong Jin-Young invited me to Korea to perform on the most ICONIC Korean TV show, Inkigayo. It was an out-of-body experience. Everyone was so welcoming and the fans were so sweet. We spent 2 weeks performing, shooting content, writing, and exploring the city… the best part was that my sister was with me the whole time. We still talk about Korea to this day.

What would you say has been the biggest highlight of your music career thus far?

There have honestly been so many moments, but in 2019 Tate McRae and I co-wrote a song for her called ‘Stupid’ during the pandemic, and the record went gold.

So let me paint the picture for you: It’s 2021, and I’m having a really bad week… honestly, it was probably a bad month. I was just EMOTIONAL. I’m at the supermarket and one of the producers of the song texted me that it went gold. I dropped everything and ran out to my mom, who was waiting for me in the car, to tell her the news…we both freaked out. I’ll never forget that moment.

What has been the highlight of your 2023 year so far? Whether it be musically, artistically, or even in your personal family life!

At the beginning of 2022, I co-wrote a song for Cian Ducrot called ‘I’ll Be Waiting’, and it started to go insanely viral (especially in the UK). Cian is from Ireland and so the song played on repeat (literally 24/7) on the radio over there. A few months ago, my dad was home visiting Ireland and the first song that came on when he got in the car was ‘I’ll Be Waiting’. Felt like a full-circle moment for me and my family.

We all know that touring is one of the main goals as an artist, who is your dream artist to open up for on a tour?

Well, it would definitely be a woman because come on… girl power. If Ariana Grande or Taylor Swift called me for a tour I would simply pass out.

As music evolves infinitely, artists always have role models... With that being said over your career as a whole, who do you find to be your most influential artist? Or the artist you always find yourself catching motivation and inspiration from?

I started writing songs when I was 7/8 years old. My music teacher, Mrs. Kenny introduced me to Taylor Swift and ever since, her songwriting and storytelling have inspired me to want to do the same. So I’d have to say Taylor is definitely one of them.

I’d also say Lady Gaga has always been a huge musical influence for me. I remember when The Fame Monster came out in 2009 and from where I was sitting, it felt like she completely changed music/culture. She was stepping out of the box, doing things other artists weren’t attempting to do at that time. She was theatrical, brave and didn’t care what people were going to say about her creative choices. I’ve been in love with Gaga ever since.

Do you have anything in the near future you can hint us to or promote?

All I can say is I’m really excited about what’s coming - and you better stay tuned!
