Slam Dunk Festival returns to Temple Newsam in Leeds again this year for another exciting day filled with talented artists. Located just twenty minutes outside the city centre of Leeds, the Slam Dunk festival has brought in crowds since it started in 2006 and now attracts around 30,000 people yearly. Held over the May bank holiday weekend, the Slam Dunk Festival is a one-day event featuring a range of metal, punk, and emo artists and bands. The festival is known for it’s energetic and lively crowds and an incredible range of musicians. The festival will feature multiple stages throughout the grounds ensuring a diverse range of artists, meaning there’s definitely something for everyone.
The UK Festival Awards nominated music festival is headlined this year by the incredible You Me At Six. Having been a fan of You Me At Six for a while now, I know the Slam Dunk crowd is in for an absolute treat! You Me At Six will be bringing the energy to the main stage. The organizers this year have gone above and beyond to put together and excellent lineup including a couple of personal favourites: Waterparks, I Prevail and The All American Rejects. In addition to the headliners, the festival also focuses on showcasing emerging artists, encouraging attendees to find their next favourite upcoming musician. With a total of five different stages throughout the grounds of the festival, it’s safe to say there’s going to be an incredible amount of talent radiating out of Temple Newsam on May 26th.
Also, if you’re an avid party-goer you’re in luck! Slam Dunk not only puts on an incredible festival during the day, they also pride themselves on throwing crazy after-parties. Taking over some of Leed’s most iconic music venues including The Key Club and Belgrave Music Hall, Slam Dunk takes over four different venues in the center of Leeds to keep the energy going well into the early hours of the morning. So if you’re a party animal who enjoys pop-punk and emo anthems all night, The Key Club is the place for you, or maybe you fancy a bit of dance, pop, and guilty pleasures you should head to Belgrave Music Hall to dance all night long.
