The long-awaited EP has finally arrived – "I Know, It's Coming" by boyhood. This album features three songs we've been eagerly anticipating, and let me tell you, it was well worth the wait. AJ's emotional resonance stands as strong as ever, and this EP marks a triumphant return to the music scene for the artist. In the words of AJ himself,
“I put out an EP in late 2018, and a single at the beginning of the pandemic, and then there was a long stretch where I wasn’t really writing original music, and was generally feeling pretty apathetic and lost in my life. These songs are about trying to break out of that rut of apathy.”

AJ has truly showcased his artistic range and willingness to experiment with his already experimental sound on "I Know, It's Coming." These tracks have taken flight with a variety of new sounds instrumentally while still retaining the iconic sound AJ has developed over time. Now, let's delve deeper into the exciting new release, track by track.
First up is "Fast," which immediately sets the mood for the album. The introduction of new instrumentation is impressive and showcases AJ's commitment to production quality. The heart of the song lies in its captivating hook, with a beautiful lead-up that breaks into an instrumental break featuring pounding drums and a soothing keyboard. AJ skillfully weaves in a catchy guitar riff that complements the song's mood, making it a fantastic start to the album.
Moving on to the track "Easy," we encounter a change in sound with quiet drums that unexpectedly add pace to the song. The calm, flowing start reflects AJ's personal inspiration and unique sound. As AJ puts it,
“ I love a frantic drum beat under a calm vocal, and that has ended up on parts of the EP.”
The song strikes an emotional chord that's impossible to ignore, paired with a sound that makes you feel like you're floating.

The song, "Lighter," offers a beautiful conclusion to the album. It delves into internal battles, self-doubt, and the conflicts within one's own mind. The song's near-inspirational sound, combined with melancholic lyrics full of relatability, provides the album with the ending it truly deserves.
